About Us
Shawano Area Food Pantry and Resource Center is a non-profit organization that is joined by local churches and other non-profit organizations to provide food and other resources to those in need in our community.
SAFPARC (pronounced safe park), is a centralized location run by volunteers from churches and charities across the area.
It is our mission to reach and help all those in need and to become a beacon of hope in our community.
SAFPARC has a board of directors and elected officers. Members of our board represent Zion Lutheran, the Church on the Hill, Sacred Heart, Hope Community Church, and other local churches and Safe Haven.
SAFPARC is glad to offer services from St. Vincent de Paul and the Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army is in the office at the pantry on Wednesdays. Call pantry to schedule an appointment.
St. Vincent de Paul is in the office at the pantry on Tuesdays. Call pantry to schedule an appointment.
Our Mission
As a Christian-based non-profit organization, SAFPARC is committed to serving all those in need in the Shawano area. The scope of service includes, but is not limited to, the distribution of food and personal care items. It is SAFPARC's intent to direct those in need to other non-profit organizations, and/or governmental agencies, as needed.

Hunger Prevention Program
A hunger prevention program running July through October that allows area gardeners to donate extra home-grown fruits and vegetables to those in need. Gardeners bring their produce to drop-off sites in Shawano County where it is distributed to those who can use it.
It's a simple program. No income requirements and no paperwork! All varieties of fruits and vegetables are accepted in quantities both large and small. Produce should be reasonable clean. Containers are provided on-site. This is a "win-win" situation because gardeners' produce will not go to waste, and recipients get healthy food at no cost!
We train people for employment and work with court ordered community services. We want to give those wishing to serve the opportunity to work directly with those in need.
Volunteers and food donations are always needed and greatly appreciated. If you are interest in becoming a volunteer, please fill out the form below.
Hours
Mon - Thurs: 8:15 am-10:30 am, and Wednesday 3:45 pm to 5:30 pm.
Under normal circumstances, if Shawano schools are closed or delayed due to weather, the pantry will be closed as well. We ask patrons to register by 10:30 am on the mornings we are open, and by 5:30 on Wednesday evenings.
If you work mornings, and are unable to come in during normal pantry hours please call as arrangements can be made to have a friend or neighbor pick up groceries for you.
As we distribute federal commodities, we use federal income guidelines.
